I received Tesla’s latest software update, version 2025.14.1, on my 2021 Model 3 today. After going through the changelog and testing a few features, here’s a breakdown of what’s new—focusing mainly on safety, convenience, and overall driving experience:

You can now choose from multiple trip plans, making it easier to tailor your journey to your preferences:

  • Fastest: Selects the quickest possible route.

  • Best Amenities: Prioritises stops near open, top-rated restaurants, shops, and restrooms.

  • Fewer Stops: Reduces the number of charging stops along the way.

Navigation can now avoid motorways when possible, providing an alternative route that bypasses major roads.

Go to Controls > Navigation > Avoid Motorways.

You can now customise the opening height of your boot and save it as the default or for a specific location, such as your garage. To set a height, pause the boot while it's opening using the touchscreen. Alternatively, manually adjust it to your preferred height, then press and hold the boot close button until you hear a chime.

To reset the boot opening to the factory default height or to clear any saved locations, go to Controls > Service > Remove Saved Locations.

Easily switch between different language input methods directly from your touchscreen. To add new keyboards, navigate to Controls > Display > Keyboards. To switch between them, simply long-press the globe icon on the keyboard and select your preferred option.

You can now continue using or charging devices via the low voltage outlets, USB ports, or the wireless phone charger even after exiting the vehicle—provided the battery is above 20%.

When this feature is enabled, these ports remain powered even when the vehicle is not in use and you're not inside. Keep in mind that this may increase power consumption, even if no device is actively connected.

To enable it, go to Controls > Charging > Keep Accessory Power On.

Minor Updates include:

  • When viewing a charger location, nearby restaurants, cafés, and shops within walking distance now appear at the bottom of the screen. (2021+ Model S/X, all Model 3/Y)

  • Media search results are now organised by source, making it quicker and easier to find content. (All models)

  • You can now sign in using an Amazon Music Free account. Requires Premium Connectivity or an active Wi-Fi connection. (All models)

  • It’s now possible to shuffle Apple Music playlists containing more than 100 songs. (All models)

  • On YouTube Music, the ‘Up Next’ section of the media player now shows which song will play next. (All models)

  • In Navigation settings, you can now choose to show or hide chargers on the map that aren’t owned or serviced by Tesla. (2021+ Model S/X, all Model 3/Y)

  • If your mobile hotspot is enabled, it will now automatically connect to your vehicle once you start driving—no need to reconnect each time. (All models)

  • Contact photos are now shown for incoming calls and in the vehicle’s Phone app. (All models)

  • This update also includes important security fixes and general improvements. (All models)

Please note that the availability of these features may vary depending on your vehicle's model and location. Some features are exclusive to certain Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y, or Cybertruck configurations, and the update may roll out at different times based on your region. Be sure to check your vehicle’s software settings for the latest available features specific to your car.
