If you're a Tesla owner, you probably already know how convenient and forward-thinking the brand is. But during a recent annual service for my Tesla — which included a filter and wiper replacement, brake fluid check and wheel alignment — I noticed something unexpected yet brilliant: I wasn’t charged for any Supercharging sessions around the time of my appointment.

At first, I thought it might be a glitch, but it turns out this is actually a little-known perk Tesla offers to owners with scheduled service appointments.

Tesla Covers Supercharging? Yes, Under Certain Conditions!

From what I’ve experienced (and confirmed with other Tesla owners), Tesla may automatically cover your Supercharging costs if you have an appointment booked at one of their Service Centres. This usually applies to charging sessions:

• Shortly before your appointment

• During the day of the appointment

• And sometimes even a bit after!

It’s not officially advertised anywhere (at least not clearly), but it seems to be a goodwill gesture — perhaps to help offset any inconvenience during servicing, especially if you're travelling to or from a service centre.

A Real Benefit That’s Worth Knowing

This perk could save you a few quid every time your car needs a check-up or minor maintenance. If you’re someone who regularly uses Supercharging, you’ll know how quickly it adds up — so this is a welcome bonus from Tesla.

As always, it’s worth checking your app or account after your appointment to see if any recent Supercharges were covered. You won’t get a notification — they just quietly waive the fee. Very Tesla-like.
